The Gambler and the Lady (1953)
Jim Forster, successful inveterate gambler, has amassed great wealth, which now allows him to penetrate previously closed circles. He ends his long-standing affair with a cabaret dancer to focus his attentions on Lady Susan Willens. Susan's father persuades him to sell to buy into a lucrative gold mine and swindles Forster for everything he's got. Now, at rock bottom, Forster returns to his roots, the dangerous haunts of the underworld, to find one friend has been unjustly murdered and another viciously attacked. He swears revenge against the perpetrators but his former girlfriend Pat seeks retribution for her pain.
A story of misplaced loyalty, avarice and passionate jealously.
