Synopsis

Inspired by true events,THE QUIET ONES tells the story of an unorthodox professor (Harris) who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist. Based on the theory that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy, the rogue scientists perform a series of tests on a young patient, pushing her to the edge of sanity. As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group quickly realizes they have triggered a force more terrifying and evil than they ever could have imagined.

Hi Burkey, I am 22 and have been raised on Hammer films by my dad. I have always been hooked and I get the same kick out of them as you did :) I would absolutely adore a Hammer Season on TV! Perhaps a Christopher Lee week ;)

I totaly agree with Sams Dad. These movies are truly magical. Why does'nt the BBC promote these fantastic films again like they did in the seventies and eighties, (perhaps by having a "hammer Season), just like the horror double bill series shown every Sat night during the summer holiday months. That is what got me hooked.Am I being selfish? or would the younger generation get the same kick out of the movies as I did. Its worth a try if you ask me.

I've been a Hammer fan since I was 10 years old. By today's standards...and I use the word "standards" loosely...some of the films are dated and even cheap looking. But that shouldn't matter. There's something amazing about these movies that have endured over the decades. Something that makes us "old timers" want to pass them on to our kids. I've recently started watching select Hammer movies with my nine year old daughter and get more of a kick out of her talking about them than I did from actually watching them. As I said, they're dated. So far the only one I've shown her that scared her was "Plague Of The Zombies", and even that didn't keep her up. My wife thinks it's cute that I get excited for the new Hammer coming out. I took a vacation day to see "Woman In Black" because I couldn't wait until after work. I plan on doing the same thing for "The Quiet Ones". Will all the new Hammer be good? Absolutely not. Does that matter? Absolutely not. Hammer could make a movie out of the phone book and I would be there with bells on. I'll take one great one for every ten crappy ones... as long as the Hammer name keeps popping up on the screen in front of me. How many other production companies have a following? Disney? That's all I can think of, and even the most die hard Disney fans won't run out to see a movie just because it's Disney. Hammer fans, on the other hand...well, that's a different story.

The Invisible Man needs a remake, and it should star Jared Harris as the title character. It should be a retelling of the original H.G. Wells story, and bring up the same points that the original Universal film did, like the terrible power an Invisible Man would hold in his hands if he were to create a way to become Invisible. Harris has the ability to play gentle, good characters, as well as sinister and evil, which is exactly the character of the Invisible Man. He starts out good, but the chemical solution he creates to turn himself invisible corrupts his mind, turning him into an unstoppable terrorist. He's the perfect choice! Hammer, please, make this happen! We need a good update of the story, and not something like "Hollow Man," which completely botched the concept.
