Not, I have to say a high point of the Hammer catalogue. I recently purchased an uncut French DVD of the movie and well.......yawn!! Great as an in-action movie but not a lot else. The Optimum edition runs at 87mins if memory serves. The edtion I have is approx 93 mins. The beast in the hold of the Spanish(?) ship reminds me of the Saarlack from 'Return Of The Jedi' so perhaps Mr. Lucas was paying attention if nobody else.
