Hammer's variant of the classic Jack the Ripper story THE LODGER. The situation of a mysterious doctor troubling the owners of a boarding house is specifically referenced in Hammer's DR. JEKYLL AND SISTER HYDE. Of all Hammer's pre-QUATERMASS films, this is the one I personally long to see most.
