I can't remember a time when there were more Hammer-related books, videos, DVDs, soundtracks and screenings in the offing. Whether or not you believe Hammer's future lies in its archive, the preservation and restoration of archive materials is important to us all. Previously unseen stills are being unearthed, films are being digitally remastered and, in the case of certain soundtrack tapes, GDI Records are rescuing rapidly disintegrating tapes from oblivion.

This month we've got details of seven new DVD releases, including the surprise appearance of rarity The Tales of Frankenstein this summer. Once again US fans are spoilt for choice while in England we can console ourselves with the concluding instalments of Hammer House of Horror on VHS.
