Elstree Film Festival

Classic Hammer Films will be making their presence felt at the second Elstree Film Festival at the end of June.
The festival is being held at the Reel Cinema, Borehamwood by the Elstree Film and Television Heritage Group, which exists to promote the film heritage of Borehamwood within the local community. The festival offers rare opportunities to watch classic British films on the big screen, the way they were intended to be seen.
A gala opening screening (complete with red double decker bus) on 25 June is the most successful British film of 1971, Hammer's big-screen version of popular 1970s sitcom On the Buses.
Thursday 28 June features the Elstree Film Fright Night - a Hammer double bill of Scars of Dracula (1970) starring Christopher Lee as the immortal Count, Dennis Waterman, and Jenny Hanley; and The Devil Rides Out (1967) a film which is regarded by many as the highlight of Hammer's output, based on the Dennis Wheatley novel and featuring Christopher Lee against type in the role of the good guy...
Special guests and Q&A sessions have been organised, with confirmed attendees including former Hammer chairman, Roy Skeggs; star of Scars of Dracula, Jenny Hanley; and Hammer scholar Wayne Kinsey.
