Tony Earnshaw's long-awaited book examining Peter Cushing's numerous portrayals of Sherlock Holmes is now available from Scarecrow Press, price $26.50.
The book traces the development of Cushing's portrayal of the character from Hammer's The Hound of the Baskervilles through to the now difficult-to-see BBC series Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. The book closes with an examination of Cushing's starring role in Tyburn's The Masks of Death, and a look at the unrealised sequel The Abbot's Cry.
This highly recommended volume features a foreword by Masks of Death director Roy Ward Baker.
