Dracula for TV
Variety (subscription required) reports that hot on the heels of their new historical miniseries The Crusaders, Kirch Media, Italian production company Lux Vide and RAI Trade are bringing an updated version of Bram Stoker's Dracula to the small screen for Italian pubcaster RAI.
The two-parter, announced at Cannes 2001, moves the story of the bloodsucking Transylvanian count to modern day Budapest and the Romanian hinterland. Cast include Patrick Bergin, Hardy Kruger Jr., Giancarlo Giannini, Stefania Rocca and Muriel Baumeister. Roger Young will directed the project from a screenplay by Eric Lerner.
