Hammer Festival in France
French Hammer fans are in for a treat this month, as the Hammer Film Festival comes to the Cinemas STAR in Strasbourg, France from 20-24 September.
The festival has been organised by Spectre Films, and concentrates on the gothic Hammer horror pictures, all presented from original 35mm English-language prints.
Screenings include The Curse of Frankenstein, Brides of Dracula, The Gorgon, The Reptile, Dracula, Quatermass and the Pit, The Mummy, Scarlet Blade and more (including Roman Polanski's Hammer homage, Dance of the Vampires aka. The Fearless Vampire Killers).
This major European retrospective will also feature a special poster exhibition, a make-up demonstration, and guest of honour, former Hammer scriptwriter, producer and director, Jimmy Sangster.
