Nigel Kneale dies

Legendary writer Nigel Kneale, best known for the groundbreaking

Quatermass Experiment

, has died at the age of 84. A veteran of British screenwriting, his work with Hammer Films was of immeasurable importance to the development of the company. Chairman Larry Chrisfield said today of Kneale, "He made a huge contribution to Hammer's  history and we are greatly indebted to him."
