Soundtrack news (March 2001)

GDI Records' releases of original Hammer music were recently described as 'arguably the most important series of horror music recordings in the last half century' by Randall Larson, senior editor of Soundtrack magazine.

Recent releases have included The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb by Carlo Martelli and The Vampire Collection, a compilation of the surviving tracks from The Kiss of the Vampire, Lust for a Vampire, Vampire Circus and The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires.

GDI Records' forthcoming releases include a budget-priced compilation of previously released tracks and an album featuring the scores from She and The Vengeance of She. 'Later this year we'll be releasing the soundtracks to Dracula A.D. 1972 and Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde,' says producer Gary Wilson. 'The support we're continuing to receive from the composers, the critics and the public is phenomenal.'
