Webmaster announcement

The popularity of HammerWeb has increased in leaps and bounds. On average two hundred and fifty visitors view the site every day. Each month hosts from across the world download almost a Gigabyte of data. Over four hundred people are subscribed to our email notification list.

We never anticipated that the site would prove so popular.

Three volunteers have staffed HammerWeb since its inception in early 1998. We have given freely of our time to maintain and expand a site that we hope reflects our enthusiasm for Hammer films.

Changing professional and personal circumstances mean that it has proved impossible to find time for HammerWeb in the last six months, however. After much thought, Simon Middleton and I have decided to resign from our roles on the website, to take effect from 31 October 2000.

Marcus Hearn will continue in his role as site editor and a new design and implementation team is expected to take over the site in the near future.

We would like to thank everyone who has encouraged our endeavours on HammerWeb and wish the new site developers every good luck in the future.

Joe McIntyre
HammerWeb Webmaster
