
Simon Oakes is Hammer's Chairman and C.E.O. and together with business partner Marc Schipper, led the acquisition and recapitalization of Hammer in 2007.
Prior to his role at Hammer, Simon Oakes held the posts of Managing Director UPCTV and latterly Head of Content Chellomedia, the content distributor of John Malone's Liberty Global, Inc.; Europe's largest cable company. Simon Oakes' early career highlights were founding producer of 'The Comic Strip', Managing Director of Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankels production company Cucumber Productions (producers of Max Headroom) and founder of Crossbow Films. He is also the Chairman of The Big Sleep Hotel Group and Chairman of B@TV.
Marc Schipper is Hammer's Chief Operating Officer, and together with business partner Simon Oakes, led the acquisition and recapitalization of Hammer in 2007.
Prior to his role at Hammer, Mr Schipper held a variety of corporate development and strategy roles at Liberty Global, Inc. starting in 1999 and rising to head of corporate development for Liberty's Chellomedia division in 2003. From 1997 to 1999 Mr Schipper worked for Merrill Lynch's European investment banking team with a focus on Energy & Power M&A. Mr Schipper holds a masters degree in economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam."
Andy Mayson joined Hammer as Managing Director in February 2008.
Prior to this, Mayson was Chief Operating Officer of Icon's UK Group of companies for five years. He was responsible for development, production and international sales activities and UK distribution, overseeing releases that included 'It's A Boy Girl Thing', 'Apocalypto', Alpha Dog', 'Bridge To Terabithia' and 'La Vie En Rose'.
Executive Producer credits include 'It's A Boy Girl Thing' with Elton John and David Furnish's Rocket Pictures, 'Darwin Awards' staring Joe Fiennes and Winona Ryder and 'On A Clear Day' staring Peter Mullen and Brenda Blethyn.
Before joining Icon, Mayson was Managing Director of Artists Independent Network Limited, the London and New York based talent company, whose clients included John Malkovich, Harvey Keitel, Gerard Depardieu, Samantha Morton and Jamie Bell.
From 1997 until 2001, Mayson was the Chief Operating Officer of Intermedia, a prominent diversified entertainment group. He was heavily involved in the purchase of the Largo and Mayfair feature film libraries, and had a significant role in negotiating and implementing $300m of film financing facilities for the group.
Prior to Intermedia, Mayson worked as Chief Financial Officer at PolyGram Filmed Entertainment International joining from Working Title Films Ltd, where he worked as Chief Financial Officer for three years. He was closely involved in a number of productions, most notably 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'.
Mayson graduated in Business Economics and Accounting from Southampton University in 1983 and joined the London office of KPMG Peat Marwick where he
