The recent Optimum Releasing Region 2 DVD release is supposed to have 8 minutes cut from it, although the older Anchor Bay Region 1 edition (coupled with The Reptile) is reputed to have this footage intact. Most Hammer fans are collectors at heart, so it's in everyone's interest to make these discs as complete as possible. I have mine on order. I've only ever seen clips of this little seen classic. Can't wait!

I have the Region 1 Anchor Bay release of Satanic Rites, which seems to be the best version around on DVD at present, although it may be difficult to get hold of. A new Region 2 release would be very welcome. (Hammer – please ensure this is uncut and in the correct aspect ratio. Recent R2 releases of Lost Continent and Brides Of Dracula have been either cut or presented incorrectly.) The irony is that many of the best DVD versions are only available on Region 1. The Hammer Horror Series, Icons Of Suspense and Icons Of Horror sets have been wonderful and are highly recommended

certainly hammer's best film, a cinematic tour de force that still has the power to chill blood to the bone!

As with HORROR OF DRACULA, this is the absolute best of the lot; dunno how many times I've seen it, either.

Caught this on "The CBS Late Movie", mid-70's. Fun, definitely out of the ordinary for Hammer.
